Ctrl Key Broken ONLY In Kali Linux

I have Kali Linux 2.0 64 bit installed on my HDD dual booting with Windows 10. When using Windows, my Ctrl key works perfectly, however in Kali Linux the key does not work at all. As you can imagine this is quite frustrating because Cttl + C is useful in ending certain processes. I havent found any solutions or people with similar problems, so I am asking here. I hope I can get some help because I do not want to purchase a new keyboard. Thanks.

Is it both Ctrl keys, or just one? What type of keyboard is it (USB, wireless, PS2)?

Is there anything listed in dmesg output, or /var/log?

Both ctrl keys, usb keyboard specifically a Redragon Karura K502

there is a lot of things in dmesg and /var/log, but i dont know what any of it means.
