Hi,
I am using Debian stable as my main OS with Kali repositories added (to get the security tools tools: deb http://http.kali.org/kali sana main non-free contrib
deb http://security.kali.org/kali-security sana/updates main contrib non-free). I know this is not generally recommended, but thought it would not be a big issue, as long as I pin the apt preferences correctly. This has worked well so far... any Debian updates that would break Kali was just ignored and kept as the Kali version.
However, recently there has been a Debian _security_ updates of samba (and the whole bunch of smb - related libs). This update breaks some Kali libs (libgensec0, libsamba-policy0). I am not sure of this should be logged as a bug or just as a warning that the current kali smb liberaries need a security update?
Cheers!
