kali persistent usb swap space

For various non relevant reasons I have not used a unix or linux system for a long time, also there were no usb's at that time.
So now that I have revealed I am an old fart lingering at the edge I pose the following question.

Do I as it pertains to the subject:
a) Put the bowl down and back away from the computer.
or
b) Yeah, why not?
Just a temp solution till new HD arrives.

hard drive came so kinda a mute point but any thoughts on use of a swap space on usb's for those who run with a persistent usb? I must say I was quite pleased with this ability.
