Question Won't boot after NVIDIA drivers installation

    Another Nvidia problem..

I have re-installed the OS 6 times and still can't get it to work.
    I have followed every guide:

    http://docs.kali.org/general-use/ins...-on-kali-linux
    https://forums.kali.org/showthread.p...Kali-Linux-2-0
    https://forums.kali.org/archive/index.php/t-27288.html

Then it always get stuck at boot. Sometimes got stuck at
Started Update UTMP about System Runlevel Changes.
    or
Started WPA Supplicant (something like that)

I have also tried many solutions found on Google without any success.
    HP Laptop, Kali 2.0 64bit, Nvidia 740GT.

If its just a blank screen then try ctrl alt F1 a couple of times or ctrol alt f2 etc.
It may be that the system is booted you just cant see the screen and may be able to get to console window this way to try to fix things.

If on some of your attempts its just clearly hanging, as it appears in some of your attempts, then I don't have an answer.

I'm very frustrated with Nvidia sadly. It's not really clear how to install it or cuda after words. It appears some things have changed as to how to install these items. Im not sure various web sites match current changes.

write one in 1 usb drive one of these usb images and enter your OS to fix the issue .
    https://www.pendrivelinux.com/instal...-ubuntu-linux/

    http://www.supergrubdisk.org/rescatux/

Got to your nvidia driver instalation that you use to install the driver , and make the uninstall , it should be something similar to this :
    ./nvidiafilename.run --uninstall
and the video driver will stay the default before you installed nvidia .

Then check your grub2 issues .

the driver for your notebook should be this one :
    http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree8..._64-352.79.run

On nvidia website you should look for nvidia geforce 740M driver .
