Desktop thumbnails size broken after Kali 2016.1 upgrade

    Hi,
after upgrade Sana to 2016.1 I can't use smaller and smallest as a thumbnails size on desktop. Looks like these options have been removed.

dconf editor does not have such option as previously for default-zoom-level

Running gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.icon-view default-zoom-level 'smallest' brings error: "The provided value is outside of the valid range"

Any chance to fix it and allow smaller and smallest options. Right now such huge thumbnails look awful.

    Thanks!

Same with mine but actually worse. Logged in as root I have the desktop icons but can't resize them. Logged in as my regular user, icons don't show (yes went into tweak tool and verified selected). Not only that, all my places are broken. I click any option under places, Home for example, it flashes up for a second then disappears. Note- this is a Vbox guest install, haven't done the update on my laptop yet which is a regular install. Should be noted that on boot it gives "Vbox kernel service not running. Exiting".

Update- Reinstalling Vbox guest additions fixed most of my issues. Still can't resize icons to anything close to small enough but everything at least works. Upgrade went fine on the laptop.

    Hi,

You can use this command gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.icon-view default-zoom-level small. This works like a charm.

It's the smallest possible for the moment.
