icons from application menu missing after upgrade to kali rolling

i have just upgraded my kali 2.0 to the new rolling version but now my icons from the applications menu have all vanished and just showing computer with red cross through it. I have searched through forums and google to find a fix for this but as rolling only just been relesed i have had no
luck.
does any one know how to fix this as i sure it just be a simple solution to fix.

Try update and upgrade then autoremove, just got my icons a few minutes ago
(Didn't have it until I type apt-get autoremove and then reboot)

sudo su
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade -y && apt-get dist-upgrade -y
apt-get autoremove
reboot

[101010]

apt-get autoremove
reboot
