Probing EDD (edd=off to disable) ???

hello, I was trying to install kali linux on my macbook pro mid 2012. I have the original Hard-disk as disk0 and in place of the optic disc, a second SDD. I also have the Hard-disk partitioned and windows installed(used bootcamp). i do no know if these info are necessary to my problem. but anyways. I installed rEFInd and I tried booting kali linux from both a USB and a DVD-R. anyways, i've tried to boot kali linux several times but with no success. if i choose Live i get the message "probing EDD(edd=off to disable)" and it never goes away. and if i choose graphical install a black page with just a cursor at the top left corner appears and nothing ever changes. I hope anyone knows how to solve this problem. thank you in advance

Press tab at the boot menu. That allows you to edit the kernel command line. Add edd=off to the end of the line and press enter to load it.
