Kali Repository question

Hi,

Good day. I am currently using Kali 2016.1, would it break the system if I add the repository both of Kali 2.0 and Kali 1.0 in the repository of Kali 2016.1 and have a full update?

Do I have to downgrade to get the good software? I can't get "wicd" network manager, or "mumble". I just want to know if I'm SOL because I'm running 2016.1 until a compatible version is released or something.
