Kali seems to have a graphic issue which makes it very slow

    I am using:

    4.3.0-kali1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.3.3-7kali2 (2016-01-27) x86_64 GNU/Linux

on a new 13" notebook which is not a beast, but has acceptable hardware:

    • Intel Celeron quad core N2940
    • 4GB RAM
    • 500GB HDD
    • Intel HD Graphics
    • 1366x768 13 inch screen

I have some issues using Kali (latest version and also on Kali 2.0 Sana) on this notebook:

    • GRUB is being displayed funny #image1
    • after GRUB I see black screen showing "Loading please wait ..." #image2
    • then the font size is being adjusted #image3
    • then I can see a "console login" which disappears automatically after some seconds #image4
    • if I shut down or reboot Kali, it logs out but does not shut down the machine (instead there is a black screen)

Furthermore Kali behaves lame - especially if I open the application overview. The system is up-to-date. It seems a bit like a graphic card issue to me ...

OK, installing lightdm was not a good idea. I f*** up Kali completely (see #image1).

Now I had to reinstall it. After the installation processed I noticed a message which might be interesting, see #image2.

    I have the same problem.
The problem seems to be "Kali Linux Rolling Updates".
Will post results after checking the GRUB code of normal boot and recovery mode.

The problem still occurs. I already had the same issue on 2.0 Sana. Does anybody have a hint at least how to solve this issue?
