Maltego with Kali Rolling

I recently installed two fresh kali rolling VMs and maltego does not run on either (64bit and 32bit). I freezes at starting modules. I have tried reinstalling maltego via apt. Maltego works in my kali 2.0 VMs.

I am currently looking into the same issue, freezes on startup at that moment. Currently have 64 bit architecture and running Maltego 64 bit.

Here is a fix that worked for me:

edit /usr/share/maltego/etc/maltego.conf

uncomment the
replace this line
#jdkhome="/path/to/jdk"

with

jdkhome="/usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-i386/"


Run Maltego
