Unable to connect to X sever

I am using Kali Linux on my Raspberry Pi 2, after a few days of use I have spent more than 10 hours trying to fix problems.

I finally had it working yesterday and yet now another problem has occurred.

Usually when I boot up my Pi I get taken to the login GUI, now it is all on the terminal. I login and then type sudo startx. This is when my error occurred.

I am getting a Error which says:

    (EE)
    Fatal sever effort:
(EE)Could not create lock file in/tmp/.tX1-lock
    (EE)
    (EE)
Please consult the The X.Org Foundation support at http://wiki.x.org for help.

    (EE)
    xinit:giving up
xinit:unable to connect to X sever: Connection refused
    xinit:sever error
xauth: error in locking authority file /root/.Xauthority

    Any help would be appreciated.

Disregard this thread, fixed it. Had to uninstall the Kali Linux and reinstall it.
