Kali does not boot after kernel upgrade

My PC triple boot Windows 10, Ubuntu 15.10 and Kali 2016.1. It boots from Ubuntu Grub. Everything worked fine until yesterday. A couple of days ago, Kali released version 4.4 of the kernel and I installed it. Then I moved to Ubuntu and run update-grub to teach Grub that something changed. Then I retry to boot Kali did not boot anymore.

If I selected advanced options and run Kali with previous 4.3 kernel everything works as expected, but if I try to boot updated kernel the system freezes on purple screen and the light of the ssd keeps blinking on, so I'm forced to shutdown the system.

I tried reading /var/log/syslog, but it seems to write anything about latest kernel booting.

The PC has an Intel i7 6700k, 64bit architecture and Nvidia GeForce gtx980m. I installed Nvidia proprietary drivers to get Cuda working.

Is there anyone that knows a possible solution to this annoying issue?

    Thanx in advance

    See https://forums.kali.org/showthread.p...-4-boot-failed.

Probably same issue no real solution yet. Does your system hang om "loading initial ramdisk" ??
    Do you use UEFI?

No, it's hanging on purple screen of Ubuntu Grub with no text at all. Yes it's UEFI boot.
I try to take a look at the solution proposed in your link.
I guess it could be that modified kernel headers for nvidia drivers are not present in 4.4 version.

I think I'll do this way. I just wanted to know if this problem is related to my specific configuration (in this case I would like to solve it) or is common to other so I can wait for a fix.
    Thanx

Today I've upgraded the system and surprise, there was something that seemed a fix for the new kernel. So I tried to boot the new kernel but at the moment to start the DE the message "Oops something went wrong" broke all my joy.
I pressed Ctrl+Alt+F1 and saved dmesg output on a file on my desktop, this is the link to that file

Someone can help me to resolve the issue?
