Why is my CPU faster than GPU at cracking?

I am using hashcat/cudahashcat with a WPA2 handshake.
My CPU is an i7 and the GPU is a Nvidia with Cuda.

The results of running for a few minutes are:
My CPU reports
(Speed/sec.: - plains, 2.7k words)
(Estimated time: 2 days)

My GPU reports:
(Speed.GPU.#1...: 12000 H/s)
(Estimated time: 10.5 days)

Why is my CPU so much faster than my GPU at cracking WPA2?

You are going to have to give a lot more information than that for an answer, such as:
Dictionary size, Processor, command ran, etc...

Also...

cpu hashcat displays different speeds than ocl/cudahashcat, so you're not even talking apples and apples here.
With 200 unique salts you're looking at 2.3 million words per second for plus, versus 0.46 words per second for cpu.
2.3 MH/s * 200 unique salts would be 460 million plains per second.

For some reason I think it's just the estimation time is off.
I did a CPU for a while (say 30 minutes) then paused it. Ran GPU for about 15 minutes and it basically blew past my CPU percentage in less time.
Still have to wonder why my GPU time says 10 days and my CPU says 2 days when my GPU made it through more % faster than my CPU.

I think you nailed it by saying I'm comparing two complete different things.

Using: --hash-type 2500 --attack-mode 3 --custom-charset1 ?d handshake.hccap ?1?1?1?1?1?1?1?1?1?1
For a total of 10,000,000,000 combinations of 0-9 and 10 characters.
If I understand "salts" correctly, I only am attacking 1 AP/Handshake/Salt
Using an intel i7 CPU.
