Hi All,
I installed the Guest Additions by following the setup instructions I found on this forum:
apt-get update
apt-get install -y virtualbox-guest-x11
reboot
Upon reboot I cant get my display settings to the 1920x1080 resolution my laptop supports, I am stuck with 1024x768 that cant be changed.
I downloaded the Guest Additions 5.016 and 5.017 iso from the VBox site and installed each (not at the same time) but when I start the machine I do not see the login screen using either version, I can enter my creds without seeing any login prompts and after the desktop load completes the video is perfect, but it annoys me that I cant see the login prompts.
Display Adapter: Intel HD Graphics 3000
VBox version: 5.016 r105871
Kali 2016 Rolling Release
I have searched and found suggestions to use nomodeset in the grub config but with that Im back to my 1024x768 screen.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
