xterm: Selected font has no non-zero width for ISO-8859-1 encoding

I am using i3 with Kali, and
    Code:
    binsym $mod+Return exec xterm
no longer works. I press mod+Return and nothing starts, so I tried executing from an existing terminal and I get this message:

xterm: Selected font has no non-zero width for ISO-8859-1 encoding

I don't know how to fix the issue. I tried specifying a different font in my .Xresources file with no success.

EDIT: Issue solved by a reboot.
