GUI problem after updates

Hi all ! Hope you guys can give me some hints about how to fix this problems.
I'm running Kali-rolling 2016.1 and after i gave
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade
it normally downloaded and installed all updates, however something went wrong and i just see polygons instead of letter and numbers in GUI. However, i can clearly see what i type.



And this is how it appers. Now, i've alredy had Kali-rolling on my pc, it was updated and well-working. Today I reinstalled it cause of some problems not related to updates and strangely that happened.
Any hint ? i wouldn't reinstall it again and download updates again (as it take hours cause of my slow internet connection)

I have the same problem however mine is not as bad as yours. mine ony the titlebar of windows and any words within windows like the tweak tool and file browser. tried changing system fonts and fxed some of it but still having issues with some areas


edit: It started today after I did an apt-get dist-upgrade

You just need to rebuild your font cache

fc-cache -f

Then restart or reload gnome (alt+f2 then r as the command).
