Areas of Kali show blocked out Squares after Updating

I just finished updating my Kali system and now the time at the log in page and various other areas through out my Kali install have just blocked out empty Rectangles in their place. It's in path when navigating through files in the GUI and also in random areas of the tweak tool. 2016-05-24 09_35_02-Document1 [Compatibility Mode] - Word.png

Cheers mate,

open a Root Terminal and type:

fc-cache -f

Then run a reboot. This works for me.
