Angry Desktop and all Apllications "zoomed In"???

Hey everyone, this is the second time I have turned my desktop on and this has happened. The desktop icons are huge, and if i open any applications, eg. iceweasel, everything is bigger than it should be. I have checked the monitor settings, they are correct. The settings and tweak tool are not set to zoom. Last time I turned the desktop off and waited a few hours and turned it back on and it went back to normal. Im running kali 2016 and i just ran apt-get update and apt-get install and that didnt fix the issue either. I have not pressed any keys to make this happen as when i turned off the machine last night it was fine. Any help would be appreciated. I cannot find any info except everyone saying to check the monitor settings...
