Question "/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off" Boot problem

I recently installed Kali on a empty external HDD and it worked, i gave it about 150gb for use and about 7gb for swap space.
It booted and worked fine on the computer i used to install it, which at the time had no internal HDD.

Once i got everything installed and updated i shutdown the computer and plugged the external HDD with Kali on into my main PC which DOES have a internal HDD that has windows 7 installed on, then suddenly i could no longer get back to Kali. just the error "/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off".

Title of ISO i burned to disc for installation "kali-linux-2016.1-i386"

I also reconnected a internal HDD with windows 7 on to the original PC and tried booting Kali but i just get the error.

I cant find any relevant information about this online, it appears to be a quite broad question with many answers to.

Linux is my secondary OS so my knowledge is limited and any suggestions or potential fixes would be greatly accepted.
