New to Linux, ready to learn!

Kali (rolling?) running as dual boot on my HDD.
External USB Alfa AWUS036H (Realtek RTL8187 chipset) is the wlan injection device.
Fern wifi cracker 2.2 has been updated as far as it would go.
(Python version 2.7.11, Aircrack-ng 1.2 rc4, QT version 4.11.4)

I experimented with Fern before and everything worked flawlessly. One day all of a sudden, the "current phrase" progress bar spazzed out. As soon as Fern achieves "handshake captured" status, it begins to 'brute-force', the bar jumps up to about 3/4 and remains stuck there for the duration. Hours pass by as it goes through a portion of the wordlist and then bleh! It locks up and freezes, going nowhere. No longer will it fully progress through a WPA attack session. Ive seen it work before, but one day it just started to **** out for no reason. I havent changed anything I am aware of.

This cannot be a common issue (I have dug around for hours now and cannot find a post about it)
What command should I feed into the terminal here to facilitate an error report?
I have tried all of the different wordlists and all different Fern setting options, and to no avail.
