Dual Booting Kali and Windows on External HDD

Hey everyone,

I recently created a Windows to Go ( https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...(v=ws.11).aspx ) installation on my external hdd. I run Kali in virtual box on my pc and need access to a wireless connection for wifi pen testing. My solution was to dual boot windows and kali on the same external hdd so I would not be running in a vm. I searched up google and found nothing. Before I edit anything, is it possible for this to work?

Don't see why not. I've always run Kali in a persistent mode (i.e. solo install, dual boot, or VM), so I can't speak from personal experience.

Would Kali recognize the external hard drive partition?

Not sure, but I'd say try it and see what happens If the external HD isn't found, might take a grub configuration change. I've not had to do that, though.
