New kali linux

hey,
I install today new kali linux on my laptop downloaded today. Have two others laptops with windows 7 system and kali linux 2.0 sana first version(i see some diffrents with the new one i downlaoded today). When i connect all to switch by eth0 i cant ping to laptop with newest instalation of kali but between laptop with windows 7 and older kali 2.0 sana i can. What its a problem??? sometimes when i set static ip to eth0 its lose this adress and i need to set it again..

I'd check /var/log for errors. Anything helpful in the output of dmesg, lsusb, lspci?

agree, i prefer to do this:
journalctl -xe

Good point, billie...forgot about the journalctl command
