Which GPU is best supported on linux?

So I am building a new computer. I'm wondering if anybody has any recommendations specifically with the 1070 and the RX 480. I am between those two and I just want to know if anybody has anything to say in terms of linux support.

I plan to dual boot arch and kali. I will be doing picture/video editing with arch and data crunching/programming in kali.

    All responses are greatly appreciated

@yasgur99: Probably "Intel Graphic Series" are the most supported on Linux. Others manufacturers like Nvidia are in priority focused to develop theirs drivers for Windows OS, that's why many users on Linux have troubles with them, especially with last GPU.

@akromos: You have 2 ways for achieve this, with default Kali packages or with Nvidia installer.

    1°) With Kali packages :
    # apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)
    # apt-get install nvidia-kernel-dkms nvidia-settings nvidia-xconfig

    2°) With Nvidia driver downloaded at : http://www.nvidia.com/download/drive...x/105343/en-us :
    # chmod 700 NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-XXX.XX.run
    # ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-XXX.XX.run

If your PC is overclocked at all then you should set it to default speeds, if that is not it you should run a memory test as well. Not saying these are your issues but it is kinda sounding as if this is the case.
