Unable to login using xrdp and non root username

    Hi,

I've installed Kali on a USB3 flash drive, a full install not the Live image.
(I have set the root=UUID=????????-????-????-????-????-???????????? linux kernel paramter in the /boot/grub/grub.cfg and it boots on multiple machines without any problems, it even boot on a VirtualBox VM setup)

I've also installed xrdp and the xfce desktop, which works very well so far.

But no matter what I try I can't login using a non root account using a remote desktop client.

Is there something I have to do to enable this or do I have to login as root ?

    Regards

I found the reason, the default /etc/X11/Xrapper.config entry is allowed_users=console
change this to allowed_users=anybody and anyone can login using xrdp.

See man Xwrapper.config for more options

I have also discovered this allows you to login using the gnome-desktop, you have to use the non root account, and click cancel when it asks about the colour profile (Related to printer setting I think), but the gnome-desktop seems stable after that.
