I dont know if you still need help or not, but hit "stop" first. that unmounts the image.

    in this step,

don't install kali linux with filetype .img
but change it >>>> filetype Partition,
and first you must partition your SDCARD with Aparted in playstore,

    add partition:
part1 FAT 32 Size: 2GB or what you want for install app or save your image i recommend 2 gb
part2 EXT 2 size: pull on full
swap i think your device is better no need to use swap memory

    sorry for bad english

i will show full tutorial for installation kali linux on android with linux deploy, or you can contact me via Private Messege.

I would love to see that tutorial, as I am sure many others would. I've been banging my head on this for ages. I've managed to get an old 1.x live image partially running, not realizing until recently that it was a 1.x image. Have tried any number of ways to get a current live image (2016.2 lite, from downloads page) to work, as well as trying from scratch with file, directory, and partition options (with an appropriately formatted and mounted 24gig 2nd partition in ext2,ext3, and ext4 format). Running a Galaxy S4 with Android 4.3 (rooted, of course) if that matters. (Once I'm past the stumbling noob phase I have a second S4 with 4.0, a broken screen, and no cell service that I'd like to get a native build running on, but one step at a time. LOL)

    Hey Steve,
Are you able to successfully install and run Kali on an Android phone? I'm doing exactly the same as the OP (repurposing an old -MotoG3- phone). I've been able to install Kali as an image but then I can't make the wifi work, and i just realized it's because Kali is "jailed" in its chroot and running on the host's kernel... What's the difference between installing it as IMG vs as partition?

    Thanks!
    Frix
