Question Trouble installing offensive-security custom image

    Hello All,

very sorry if this has already been answered, i did some searches but could not find anything to help me. (im new to VMWare so maybe im not googling the right questions lol).

Im attempting to install the prebuilt Kali Linux 64bit VM on my ESXi 6.0 server. I will tell you what i am doing first to see if im missing something:
    1. Download the file
    2. Unzip file contents and upload the files to my datastore
    Kali Files.jpg

    3. Navigate to my server in my web browser and open the host client.
    4. Click create/register VM
    5. Click register existing virtual machine
    6. Select to the vmx file in the datastore.

The Virtual Machine then appears in my inventory, but when i attempt to power on the VM it sits at 16% and then produces an error:
    "e /vmfs/volumes/579fc876-455f3ebc-b256-64006a8820a7/Kali-Linux-2016.1-vm-amd64/Kali-Linux-2016.1-vm-amd64.vmdk was not found"

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

It would normally be the disk format for the vmdk that is not recognized/supported by ESXi. You could try converting the vm by using the VMware converter.
