After login i get blue screen

Hello!
Today when I opened Kali, virtual box, I got a problem with the graphical interface so I used the:
Log in to tty1
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade -y
apt-get install -f gdm3
Reboot
when I reboot the graphical interface was back, but when I log in now I get a cyan screen with no text, just my mouse, I can move it.
I don't want to reinstall Kali because I don't want to lose my work.

I'd report this at bugs.kali.org. If you can still get a console login, the output of lspci, lsusb, and dmesg may help the Kali team troubleshoot this.
