Unhappy Trouble finding 802.11 standard - should I buy AWUS036NHA?

    Hi,
I need to choose an aircrack-compatible wireless card. I'm running the latest version of Kali on a late 2015 MBP as a dual boot with persistence.

My home router is a DPC3825 (Broadcom 14e4:43ba). Its chipset isn't compatible with the b43 driver, so I need a wireless card.

I of course need to choose one that's compatible with the 802.11 standard of my router. However, I'm having trouble finding out what that is.

Pressing alt in Mac and clicking on my wifi network says that it's 802.11n connected.
I'd assume this means I'd be good with an 802.11n compatible card.

In Kali, the command lspci | egrep -i --color 'wifi|wlan|wireless' returns
03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM43602 802.11ac Wireless LAN SoC (rev 01)
This suggests to me that I need an ac compatible card.

    Finally, iwconfig wlan0 returns
    wlan0 IEEE 802.11abgn ESSID:"XXXX"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.462 GHz Access Point: XXXXXXXX
    Bit Rate=58.5 Mb/s Tx-Power=1496 dBm
Retry short limit: 7 RTS thr: off Fragment thr: off
    Encryption key: off
    Power Management: on
Link Quality: 0 Signal level: 0 Noise level: 0
Rx invalid nwid: 0 Rx invalid crypt: 0 Rx invalid frag: 0
Tx excessive retries: 0 Invalid misc: 0 Missed beacon: 0

This suggests that again, I'd be ok with a 802.11n compatible card.

I'm confused as to why the lspci command returns 802.11ac. If you have suggestions as to which card I should get, please let me know.
I was thinking of buying the ALFA AWUS036NHA card. It's not strictly on the aircrack website. Its chipset is Atheros AR9002U. Since I think my wifi network is 802.11n, this should be compatible. I need it to be able to capture WPA handshakes and inject packets.

Concerningly, the forums themselves (on the admin recommended wireless cards thread) says that:
    2.4GHz
    Alfa AWUS036H ~ http://www.alfa.com.tw/products_show.php?pc=34&ps=92
    *Been replaced with Alfa AWUS036NHA*

    Realtek RTL8187L ~ http://wikidevi.com/wiki/ALFA_Network_AWUS036H
    500 mW
    Detachable antenna (RP-SMA)
    IEEE 802.11b/g
    54Mbps
    WEP, WPA/WPA2
    USB 2.0

    says that it's only b/g.

I've been wrestling with a number of sites for several hours and getting conflicting info on what I should buy and what it's compatible with.
In short, I really need help finding out what standard my wireless network is.Let me know if you need the output of more commands.
If you're working with the AWUS036NHA right now, please, please tell me if it's compatible with monitor mode and fully compatible with aircrack. My current Kali version is 2016.2, so kernel 4.6. My Mac's software is El Cap, so 10.11.something.

    Thanks!
