upgrade doesn't installed all the new tools form kali 2016.2

upgrading form kali 2016.1 to 2016.2 doesn't installed all the new tools(not available on kali 2016.1) which are available on kali 2016.2 iso image.
for eg. maltego which is available on kali 2016.2 (not in kali 2016.1) but when i upgraded from kali 2016.1 to kali 2016.2 it is not installed on my system.
    what did i missed?

hopefully not breaking the forum rules.

If you ran apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade, that should get everything. I'd verify your /etc/apt/sources.list is correct, just to be safe.

That seems odd. Are there several tools missing, or just a few? If it's only a few, I'd just install them via apt-get install
