I wanted to run Kali off of my iMac (OS X El Capitan - Version 10.11.5).
I started by setting up my 32GB USB drive (his name is Gordon). I partitioned it to start with. Here is a screenshot of what that looks like now:
(I apologize for the large image.)
Then I used the latest iso of Kali and loaded it onto my USB using the application, Mac Linux USB Loader. Mac Linux USB Loader loaded all the files needed (I think) on to my USB. Here is a screenshot of what that looks like:
(Now, that image size is far more appropriate)
Great! I thought I was all finished and ready to boot Kali on my iMac. But sadly, when I did try boot it up, this is what happened:
(Wow, that's one big image!)
"error: attempt to read or write outside of disk 'loop'."
"error: you need to load the kernel first."
Can someone please help me fix this problem?
Thanks for your help,
Douku.
