    No IP for eth0

    On my HP laptop, I am having issues connecting via ethernet.

    From the logs, it looks like Kali sees the device. Are the services network-manager and network running? If you're using DHCP, have you tried dhclient eth0 to see if you get an IP address? Any chance you have a bad cable, or bad port on your switch/router?

    The services are running. dhclient eth0 hangs. Nothing is returned. The cable and port are working fine. I have no problems connecting using other computers.

    Hmm, can you use Wireshark to sniff packets in promiscuous mode...to verify your LAN card is working? Can you manually set an IP address on the card?

    I reinstalled the operating system using kali-linux-2016.2-i386.iso (before I was using the light version) and now eth0 is working properly.
