my prob is i get this

    Obsolete major version 9.5

│ The PostgreSQL version 9.5 is obsolete, but the server or client
│ packages are still installed. Please install the latest packages
│ (postgresql-9.6 and postgresql-client-9.6) and upgrade the existing
│ clusters with pg_upgradecluster (see manpage).

│ Please be aware that the installation of postgresql-9.6 will
│ automatically create a default cluster 9.6/main. If you want to upgrade
│ the 9.5/main cluster, you need to remove the already existing 9.6
│ cluster (pg_dropcluster --stop 9.6 main, see manpage for details).

│ The old server and client packages are no longer supported. After the
│ existing clusters are upgraded, the postgresql-9.5 and

I have been trying to figure this out for the past couple of days. I'd definitely appreciate any suggestions as well.

Scroll down to the bottom, then press the right key. Should highlight "ok". Press enter. Upgrade should continue properly. I am assuming you are new to debian and this is not a real problem I am overlooking. Good luck

Did you try what I said to do? When you are upgrading a blue screen pops up saying PostgreSQL Version 9.5 is obsolete and you will need to delete some files in order to continue upgrade. With [OK] below a few paragraphs of text. This is a standard screen in debian when your only option is to select ok or exit. Hit the down arrow key until it stops scrolling down then hit the right arrow key until [OK] is highlighted and hit enter. Your upgrade should then continue to make the necessary changes and finish they upgrade. You could probably hit tab then enter as well.

Nothing happens when i scroll down, highlight ''ok'' and hit enter... Is this a error or?? have tried to reinstall 2 times now. First time I got the error I closed the Terminal and restarted the computer but that resulted in a bluescreen and unable to do anything. Second I tried to do as stocktrad sayed but yeah... didnt do anything.

    Hope you can help me!
