I'm using a Raspberry Pi 3 with a rolling release of Kali for ARM.

I'm interested in sending and receiving RF signals under 1GHz. This seems possible via the USB dongle Yardstick One (http://greatscottgadgets.com/yardstickone/). If there are other options for this (need to record the received data), then please let me know as this one is rather pricey. I am willing to accept arduino solutions as I have several mega chips lying around.

I've read on various forums that people seem to have trouble with the configuration of the Yardstick One in Kali. Is the dongle supported by the OS?
Would there be additional problems with ARM?

I would especially appreciate a response from the staff here.
