Hi,
I'm in the Shell with the Chromebook in dev mode.

My Acer Chromebook has the image:
kali.2.1.2-acer.img.xz in the downloads folder (from https://www.offensive-security.com/k...ux-arm-images/ - Acer Chromebook (Nyan)

I'm trying to image the kali img to the USB so I can install Kali from it on boot up as I've been told this is how to install Kali on the Chromebook.

Using dd to try to copy the img to the USB I get a message saying "permission denied".
It's implying that the USB is read only.

I've tried to set the USB to write but it says not connected.

I'm struggling now for the last couple of days with it as I have limited experience of Linux. I'm an educator and have a Windows network set up that I want to do some pen testing on using chromebooks - this first attempt is a trial to see if it works. I've hit a wall.

Can anyone help with a way to install Kali on to the Acer Chromebook? Your help is much appreciated - thank you in advance.

p.s. - I've assumed USB is the best way to install Kali on a Chromebook rather than SD card but am happy to try another way.
