kali 2016.2 problem adapter wifisky rt3070

    Goog morning!
    Excuse me for my english.
I use kali linux 2016.2 on virtual box with adapter wifisky (chipset rt3070).
when I put it in monitor mode I have no problem
    but when I scan networks (airodump-ng wlan0mon) I can't see nothing.
connecting the adapter to a backtrack 5 it works fine and connecting an other adapter to kali it works fine too.

    I read that for rt3070 kali 2.0 is better,but I don't find it.

    anybody can help me?
    thanks

Will your wifi card work on a native Kali install? Personally, I've always found wifi in a virtual machine to be problematic.

No problem Generally speaking, if your card goes into monitor mode ok, airodump-ng will work. Just to be safe, I'd also try Kismet, and see if you get similar results.

    yes its the 3070.
    did you try: airodump-ng wlan0mon -C
the 3070 is getting bad FCS (i believe that even if you dont see the "BAD FCS" messege, your card is hitting them).
so to be safe, try the -C.
its a shame that the good STRONG SIGNAL adapters have 3070 chipset and those same adapters are acting up (on 2016 2).
the AR9271 is superb and always get the job done but its a very week signal adapter (so injections and monitor resaults are signal related).
    p.s.

i did a small test with REAVER, BackTrack vs. Kali 2016 2, guess what..... Backtrack was the fastest to finish reaver.

Are you also using airodump-ng wlan0mon in VMware?

I have the same problem, when I uninstall the virtualbox, and reboot the computer, then install the virtualbox again, it will be work.

EDIT: Some time is unstable, you can try apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade
