Kbd error when booting on pi 2 B+

Hello all. Using dd i copied image kali-2.1.2-rpi2.img.xz to my sd card and everything went well. Now when booting the pi I get this error message:

Entering kdb (current=0xcdacd8000, pid 1) due to Keyboard Entry
    kdb> _

    Also getting a kernal panic:

kernal panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode 0x0000000b

I cannot seem to find a solution. Has any else had this problem and is there a fix. More than likely it is probably my error along the way. Raspbian boots fine using same hardware on another sd card. Dont think it is the card as I have tried 3 cards and I still get exact same error

    thank you

UPDATE *****Just discovered I have pi b+ and not pi2 B+. so i am re-imaging with kali-2.1.2-rpi.img.xz as this was a mistake on my part. If this resolves the issue I will close ticket as resolved. Some times you feel like an idiot and sometimes you dont. Stay tuned.
