Having a bit of a problem rotating the screen 90 degrees on the GPDWin mobile.

Have tried
1. Updating kernel to 4.8.0 but get absolutely no output on the lcd so went back to 4.6.0
2. Adding lcd_rotate=1 to the "/boot/config.txt" file but get no putput
3. Adding display_rotate=1 to the "/boot/config.txt" file but get no putput
any ideas.

EDIT: Tried using "xrandr -o right" but now get no screen output and can't get my X session back. This change is persistent through reboot.
