Rpi 3 - 5" tft adafruit touchscreen issues

    Hi All,

So, built a kippah based unit (with powerboost so I can run off lithium ion battery)

Everything works fine EXCEPT I cannot get the screen to work. I've followed re4son's steps outlined on his blog but the sucker just will not work. It's a white screen, unresponsive, no matter what I do.

After I follow the steps outlined by re4son the pi will no longer boot, it hangs and then my external monitor connected via hdmi goes blank and the tft stays white/blank. I keep having to start from scratch

Here is a link to the build I based mine off of in case it helps:

    Thanks,
    Grime

    Hi Grime,

The Kippah is a very strange thing that sits half way between a normal HDMI and a TFT display.
My setup is traditionally only for TFT displays or HDMI but not in between.
You should be able to get it to work if you install my kernel but don't run the setup tool.
Next continue with the adafruit guide from section "Install and Try raspi-gpio" - Note that you have to download "raspi-gpio" from the raspberrypi repo and install it manually.
    That should do the trick.
Please let us know how you go.

    Many thanks,
    Re4son

    Hi efrum326,

    try this:

    wget https://archive.raspberrypi.org/debi...0914_armhf.deb
    sudo dpkg -i raspi-gpio_0.20150914_armhf.deb

    That should do the trick.

    Hey Re4son,

Really appreciate the response, that did the trick for me! Running the setup tool was the culprit, thanks again.

    Cheers

****.. bluetooth isn't working now though, redid all the steps i did the first time but to no avail.

the kali forums are unfortunately sprinkled with several ppl who have bluetooth issues on Pi3 w/ kali and no response/help for them..

    Re4son, any ideas?
