    ASUS Chromebook C201 USB boot?

    Hi guys,

I just purchased the ASUS Chromebook C201 from Argos uk. There policy is "if you purchase a a laptop, notebook, tablet or phone" you can not open it and return it! so i am trying to find as much information as I can before I do so.

I would like to run Kali Linux from a USB. can anyone shed any light on this if indeed it is possible? And if so what are the steps that i would have to take. I have a little knowledge about computers but mostly windows.

I would be very grateful for all you guys help.

    thank you in advance!

I am in the same boat as you. I purchased my Asus A201 without realizing it was ARM architecture and have had a heck of a time setting this up.

I tried Chroot to run Kali-rolling directly, doesnt work.

I tried making a bootable USB from a Chroot version of Ubuntu, doesnt work.

I even tried making a Windows bootable Kali USB, doesnt work.

I FINALLY got a USB version setup and running!

    1. Download the ARM image for the ASUS Flipbook here: https://www.offensive-security.com/k...ux-arm-images/

    2. Enable developer mode. (look it up on youtube)

    3. Note the command to bypass the boot screen is Ctrl + D

    4. Open a terminal by pressing Ctr+Alt+T once inside chrome.

    5. Type "shell" press enter

    6. Type "sudo bash" press enter
