Hi. I recently upgraded my kali linux and immediately notice that I'm disconnected from my Wifi AP.
My Wifi card can no longer detect any wifi APs since then.
After some research, I thought it might be the problem of wpa_supplicant.
I tried to run kali linux 2016.1 live (which uses wpa_supplicant ver.2.2-2.3) and my wifi card works fine.
After I use synaptic to upgrade wpa_supplicant to latest version (2.5-2+v2.4-3+b1(kali-rolling)) , my wifi card stopped working again. So I suppose it really is the wpa_supplicant causing this problem.
So now I'm facing a new problem.
Kali developers removed the old sana repository so synaptic can't force version my wpa_supplicant to 2.2-2.3, are there any other substitutions or methods to downgrade wpa_supplicant ?
And just another little question....
Kali developer team must choose to use this specific version of wpa_supplicant for some reason, is it for security?
Thanks for reading my post!
(Please forgive my rather poor English writing. English is not my primary language and I sure have much improvements to do )
