Hello Kali community, I am having a few issues with my recently upgraded Kali installation, and am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I recently upgraded from v2.0 to Rolling 4.8.0, kernal 4.8.7 1kali1.

There are a few issues with the video that I didn't have in 2.0, the big one being that upon disconnection of an HDMI device the system will hang, after a few moments the built in display will go blank and the caps lock will flash. It is my understanding from past experiences with BT and Ubuntu that the flashing caps lock is an indicator of a kernal panic.

A similar occurrence happens upon closing and re-opening the lid, but without the kernal panic and I am still able to switch between ttys. I've tried to set the lidswitch action to ignore but it still does this even though it is not going into suspend mode, therefor I believe it is related to the above issue in the sense that it only does this when a display disconnects.
