I am trying to use and old Mac (2009) as an isolated Kali test station, when I try and boot from the kali bootable cd it tells me the version I have is too old (the mac that is), has anyone tried installing Kali on an older Mac before?

Could you take a screenshot and post it. That sounds really weird, those have core 2 duo CPU so that shouldn't be a problem.

Are you using kali 2017.1?
