    Randon Screen Rotation After Updates

This is a fresh Kali 2016.2 installation which I have tried twice with the same results. After applying the latest updates to the build, the screen will randomly rotate 90 degrees every few minutes. This is regardless of whether or not i am using the laptop.

HP Pavilion AMD A10-8700P Radeon R6, Gallium 0.4 on AMD Carrizo (DRM 3.1.0, LLVM 3.8.0

    • I can correct it using "XRANDR -o normal" but it is not persistent while operating the device.
    • AMD's driver site doesn't show an applicable driver for the R6 video
    • lspci shows "VGA Compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Carrizo (rev c5)
    • Under Display there is not any option to control rotation. I see this on a Kali install on another PC.
    • The PC doesn't have any BIOS setting for screen rotation or any physical switch.
    • The System log generates this error when it rotates.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Thanks in advance for any help,
My one does exactly the same! what I did was use this icon and that seemed to sort it .

up towards the top right of the screen where there is power, wifi and all that

just click the 'rotation' icon and all sorted for me

    has not rotated yet

    hope this solves your problem

There is an auto-rotation icon in the system tray menu (top-right corner). You can disable it from there.

Ah, that appears to have fixed it. Ran all night without any rotations.

Thanks very much for the replies!
