virtualbox gets stuck at waiting for network "waiting for local-link address"

    HI all,
I'm trying to install kali on a brand new laptop.

    Particulars of laptop:
    Manufacture: Lenovo, ideapad300
    OS: win10 home
    CPU: INTEL CORE i5 6200 2.3ghz-2.4ghz
    8mb RAM, 64bit os.

    linux version:kali-linux-2016.2-i386

    virtualbox:5.1.12

I've downloaded the latest virtualbox and it just seems to hang at the network portion of the install"waiting for local-link address".

I've gone into the network portion of the install and changed from NAT, BRIDGED, NAT-NETWORK, INTERNAL NETWORK. None of these seem to work.

I've googled ad nauseam, but nothing seems to fit what I've got.

    Thanks for any help
