Need older verion of OpenVpn, 2.3.12

Currently running Kali on the rolling dist, aka up to date. As i understand it the version of OpenVPN in the repositories is 2.4.xx. In order to get this new VPN service that i have purchased to work I have been told that I need to be using an older version of OpenVpn, specifically 2.3.12.

When I run the following command, I am told that that version of OpenVpn is not available.
    #apt install openvpn=2.3.12

Without completely rolling back to a previous version of Kali, how can I get the specific version (2.3.12) of OpenVPN installed?

    Thoughts?

You might probably just need to update a few configuration items. If not, it's probably to change VPN provider.

If you really want an older version, you'll most likely have to download and compile it yourself.
