Adding a program icon to the Favorites bar

    Greetings!

I downloaded and installed a program, and it did not automatically add itself to the apps list. I have an icon on the desktop for it, but I would really prefer the icon to be on the Favorites bar. How do I add a program icon to the Favorites bar?

    Thank you!

Found an answer - apt-get install alacarte - so the applications menu can be managed.

Once alacarte is installed (you'll find it in the Preferences menu under the title: Main Menu) run it and add your application. It will now be in the applications list that shows up when clicking the "Show applications" icon on the Favorites Bar.

Click the Show Applications icon and find your application. Right-click and choose the Add to Favorites selection.
