Unhappy WLan Issues Killer Wireless-AC 1535

I just bought a new Razer Blade (2017) with:
    - Intel i7 7700HQ
    - 16GB RAM
    - Nvidia GTX 1060
    - Killer Wireless-AC 1535

I installed various Kali Versions, lately the latest week Build (kali-linux-2017-W13-amd64).

i got issues with the WLan Card. While installing Kali the card is being recognized but now firmware is found. i tried to download the latest ath10k drivers for it, they couldnt be used in installation process. Afterwards i tried like exchanging the ath10k firmwares, and the usual troubleshoots i found but nothing worked. I just reinstalled it so kali is in brandnew condition, nothing changed. In kali itself its sometimes being recognized and i can use it to connect to unprotected ssids. if theres a psk i cant connect. i can set it into monitor mode but dont get anything when using airodump or wireshark. i also have tried to install it via backports but it didnt work.

    lspci recognizes the card:
    Code:
3b:00.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter (rev 32)
dmesg shows me a lot errors like this (cant post whole return i get, way too long):
    Code:

    Homepage of Killer says: (http://www.killernetworking.com/driv...iew=topic&id=2)

    Killer 1535/1525/1435 in Ubuntu
    Ubuntu 14.04

You will first need to install the latest backports package to have up to date drivers.

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ub...ling_Backports

    Ubuntu 16.04

The built in drivers should work without any changes, though you may need to update your wireless firmware:

    wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/poo..._1.162_all.deb
    sudo dpkg -i linux-firmware*.deb
    sudo modprobe -r ath10k_pci && sudo modprobe ath10k_pci
so i tried the guide for Ubuntu 16.04, it says i dont need a driver (Ubuntu 16.04 came with kernel 4.4, i use kernel 4.9.0-kali3-amd64)
after downloading the newest firmware i do following command with following output:

    sudo dpkg -i linux-firmware*.deb

    Code:

(sry, using german kali, hope you understand it)

I suggest you to use the search function your query in Community-Generated-How-tos. Your wifi adapter is popular so you may find the fix for it.

if not used with --band option, of course you get nothing

soooo had some contact to killer networking support.

told me to do "sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite linux-firmware*.deb", then it worked. after that i get:

    dmesg | grep "ath10k"

Support told me thats perfect, hope he s right.

tried all the airodump --band combination, makes no difference. im comparing it with an 2.4 wifi usb stick, same (2.4ghz) commands but getting outputs while using the stick and not getting outputs using my intern.

seems like airodump is not supporting ath10k yet. so think this thread can be closed.

So after a little digging the killer wireless cards.
    it uses the https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Ath10k

    Known bugs/limitations

    • firmware does not support association to the same AP from different virtual STA interfaces (driver prints "ath10k: Failed to add peer XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX for VDEV: X" in that case)
    • monitor/promiscuous mode causes firmware crashes very often
    • packet injection isn't supported yet
    • applying ath9k regulatory domain hack patch from OpenWRT causes firmware crash (reason: regulatory hint function is never called and ath10k never sends scan channel list to the firmware which in turn causes firmware to crash on scan)

Some links I digged up on the issue:
    http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail...ay/005183.html
    https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/18794

some links i dug up with solutions:
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=196519
    http://www.killernetworking.com/driv...iew=topic&id=2

    Reporting the issue to ubuntu:
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...x/+bug/1383184

I just ordered a laptop with this card, and was doing research before it arrives tomarrow.. shame I wont be hacking wifi from this laptop..However I always use my athos USB wifi card anyways so no big deal for me..
If anyone does find a fix or want to rant and rave at the company im in.
