Thread: Can't install TL-WN722N drivers

    Question Can't install TL-WN722N drivers

    Hi,

    I have a TP-Link TL-WN722N v2 and I'm trying to use it on Kali; apparently the v2 isn't plug'nplay, so I cloned the repository for the r8188eu driver from here : https://wikidevi.com/wiki/TP-LINK_TL-WN722N_v2 .

But when I type the "make" command to install it, an error appears : this error.jpg

What is the cause of this error and how to get rid of it please ?

    Thanks

The picture is useless, we can't see anything on it. Post the output of the terminal as well as the URL in the post instead of taking a screenshot.

Red face TP-LINK WN722N version is on the box

The V2 won't work as written in many, many posts. I just went out and purchased one today, made sure it was v1.0 (there is a sticker on the bottom of box that tells you the version)....best $15 CAD i've spent in years.
I booted up my VM, plugged in the USB, did a
    Code:
    lsusb
and got the response i was hoping for:

    Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0cf3:9271 Atheros Communications, Inc. AR9271 802.11n

    Did the command
    Code:
    airmon-ng
    and results:
    PHY Interface Driver Chipset
    phy1 wlan0 ath9k_htc Atheros Communications, Inc. AR9271 802.11n

Stop going nuts like I did...for $15 it can also be used a normal WiFi device without pentesting.

    No, you'll need the V1.
