Kernel 4.12 not booting after update

    Hi,

I just updated my Kali VM in Virtualbox 5.1.26 incl. the new kernel 4.12 but cannot boot it (same is true for kernel 4.11). Using the older 4.9 kernel from Grub menu works as expected. The only info I can see after removing quiet from the kernel boot params is attached in the screenshot. It just hangs at that point endlessly. I also can't find anything in the logs after booting into kernel 4.9.

The virtualbox host is running Fedora 25.

    Any hint is highly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    spoppi

[SOLVED] Kernel 4.12 not booting after update

After again checking the virtual machine settings the issue was caused by having para virtualization in the System settings of the VM set to "legacy" instead of "default". Looks like there have been changes in Kali's kernel configuration recently.

    Regards,
