    Usb install

    Hello
My goal is to use my live boot USB (kali verified) to install an encrypted install of kali, using the entire disk, on another USB stick.
Every time I try this, whether I choose Lvm, encrypted Lvm, or regular installs through the graphical option in the live USB, I end up with a failed partition command, with the following error:

Note that I have replaced variable information with "X" as sometimes it states partitions 2, 5, etc, and of course the drive designation varies based on the attempt,

Error: Partition(s) "X" on /dev/sdX have been written, but we have been unable to inform the kernel of the change, probably because it/they are in use. As a result, the old partition(s) will remain in use. You should reboot now before making further changes.

So how can I accomplish the install?
I have been trying for quite some time with no available resources on the web to help.

I'm trying to install 64 bit kali (2017.1) on an amd pc
I don't know what other information to provide hopefully the mod lets it though
